About The Community:
Smugglers' Roost is a pioneering community which serves as a hub for exploration, creativity and trade.
A Whole Host OF Creative Amenities. Sit by the soothing sounds of the waterfall at our new Koi Pond as birds gather to feed and bathe. We're now wood-firing pizza in the new Horno (adobe-brick pizza oven). We'll also be firing pottery soon in new Raku Pottery Ground Kilns. If you've always wanted to try sculpting pottery - now's your chance. The new Community “Pod “now serves as a meeting venue, center for trade and gallery for artistic display.
Come create your own culinary delights in the Outdoor Community Kitchen complete with sinks, food prep area, grills, antique wood-fired stove, smokers and gas pizza cookers or grab something from the new Food Truck which will be open soon.
The Pavilion serves as our live music venue, outdoor movie theatre and area for community gatherings, which we hold frequently. Our Gems and Minerals Workshop has several workbenches for processing the wealth of gems and minerals found in the area, including turquoise from our turquoise mine in nearby Old Hachita. Grow your own veggies year-round in our Horticulture Tents.
IT'S Holiday Time at The Roost. It's time for crisp cool nights around the fire pit with new friends. Come join us for community events, nights under the stars or afternoons exploring a different hobby, learning something new, reconnecting with nature or reinvigorating an old creative passion. Let's set out together on an adventure and take advantage of the multitude of outdoor activities available in our area, including hiking, rock climbing, cycling, off-roading, rockhounding, horseback riding and birding. Join us for an arts/craft workshop, some live music, a wood-fired pizza, an engaging presentation by a visiting expert, a barbeque, a cooking contest, movie night and a telescope viewing.
Increased Value - Today's Low Price. Our improvements to the water, commercial septic & primary electric have greatly upped the value of our sites. Take advantage of this growth in value at the current low pricing.
We're in the Middle of Everywhere. We're surrounded by a wealth of wide-ranging activities and natural amenities which include extraordinary, yet uncrowded state and national recreation areas, caves, mines, ghost towns, museums, historic locations, native sites, observatories, local wineries and micro-breweries. Our website features an interactive map to help you explore all there is to see and do.
Join our Growing Community. We are still a work in progress and Your input into the community is essential. As we had hoped, Smugglers' Roost has grown into a friendly and active community. There are now more than 70+ full-time residents, all displaying a variety of both interests and talents. CALLING All Artists. Nationally acclaimed scenic artist, Pam Price of F5 Theming & Design 2, Llc, is now producing artwork for a growing array of high-profile clients in her 1,600-Sf Art Production Facility at the Roost. Pam's impressive body of work includes serving as Art Director with The Companies of Nassal, to oversee the 300+ artists that brought The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade to life at Universal Studios Orlando. Although her new projects are highly confidential, her initial staffing of artists is being drawn from Roost residents. Come join the growing F5 Team of artists.
