Hudspeth County is one of our favorite places. It's situated in far west Texas between El Paso County to the west and Culberson County to the east. This is a beautiful area. The air is clean, the water is clear, and there is basically no pollution and no serious crime here. The sunsets are as beautiful as you will ever see. The night sky is so clear you will be amazed by how many stars you can see.
There is no zoning. You can camp or RV without restriction. You can have a mansion, mobile home, prefabricated home, etc. This can be your perfect tiny home land. There is no Homeowners Association (Hoa). There is no Property Owners Association (Poa). There's just you, your freedom, and the beauty of nature.
The Sparks Ranch subdivision is a beautiful area located near Dell City, north of Highway 62/180. These properties are surrounded by some of the most incredible views west Texas has to offer. You will be very close to The Guadalupe Mountains and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. You will have a full view of the long side of this range, which are the highest mountains in Texas. There are other nearby mountains including the Cornudas Mountains and the Sierra Tinaja Pinta Mountains to the northwest, and the Black Mountains to the south.
This is an undeveloped area with no available utilities. The main activity in this region is ranching.
An old trail road comes to the property, it looks like it hasn't been driven in a while.

We have not been to this property. These directions are what seem sensible to us based on what we see on Google Earth. You should look at the area in Google Earth or Google Maps (satellite view), you might prefer a different route. As you approach this property, it looks like the trail roads have not been driven in a long time. You might have to drive them multiple times to wear them in again. You will need to determine whether access meets your requirements.
You will be driving on remote west Texas trail roads. Please take precautions against the possibility of your vehicle breaking down far away from other people. You should drive an SUV or pickup truck with sturdy tires, at least 8 ply. Check your spare tire before leaving home. Take plenty of drinking water. Make sure that your cell phone is fully charged. Tell someone exactly where you're going and when you expect to return.
From Carlsbad, NM, drive west on US-62 W / US-180 W for 92.2 miles. This is about a quarter of a mile west of where FM Road 1111 intersects 62/180. Turn right (north) onto Foster Ranch Road at 31.762358, -105.373031.
2.42 miles later turn right at 31.797433, -105.373244.
1 mile later turn left at 31.797522, -105.356319.
1.32 miles later turn right onto the old trail road at 31.816708, -105.355937.
0.6 miles later you will be at the property.
